Bogota Middle School Update

Dear BMS Parents/Guardians:
School picture make-ups and retakes will be held on Monday, December 18th. Students who are retaking pictures may dress up on Monday for them. Appropriate dress is required. No ripped clothing, crop tops, or pajamas. If a child is retaking pictures, the original package must be returned. The link to pre-order is https://bit.ly/MVABLC
Please make sure that your are monitoring your child's phones, video game consoles, and any other devices being used at home. I know we want to trust our children but it is important to guide to them in making the right decisions in life. Winter Vacation is quickly approaching and students will have more free time than they usual do to use technology. I am asking that you review what is safe and appropriate.
We will also be having an assembly next Wednesday, in collaboration with the Bogota Police Department, to discuss suitable use of technology.
The Jr YAC Sponsored Toy Drive will conclude tomorrow. New and unwrapped toys will be given to the Bogota Police Department to distribute to children who are in need or ill. Please help a child smile this holiday season. There will also be an Ice Cream Sundae Sale on Tuesday, December 19th. The proceeds of the sale will be given to the Bogota Police Department to help buy toys for their Annual toy drive. Buy a sweet and help make a difference in the life of a child!
The flier for each themed day next week, beginning on Monday, is below. I know that many middle school students may think that they are "too cool" to participate but it will be fun!
Next Friday, December 22nd, is a one session day. Students will be dismissed at 12:40pm. The Bogota School District will then be closed for Winter Vacation from December 25th through January 1st.

The PTO is asking for snack donations for our BMS Movie/pajama day coming next Friday. You can sign up to donate by clicking on the button below.
The PTO will be hosting a teacher/staff breakfast on December 21st. They will also be around to give pizza to all of our students on December 22nd, the day before Winter Recess.
Our Next PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, January 9th, at 7:00pm in the Bogota Middle School Cafeteria. Parents will enter through the front door. We hope to see everyone there!!!!

PLEASE GET PROOF OF VACCINES TO OUR NURSE ASAP!!!!
Now that COLD and FLU season is upon us, here are a few important reminders :
1. If your child is not feeling well PLEASE DO NOT SEND them to school for the health and well being of our teachers and students.
2. Your child MUST BE FEVER FREE without medication for 24 hours before returning to school.
3. If your child is going to be absent , PLEASE call the school and leave your child's name, grade, homeroom teacher, and reason for absence.
4. Please encourage your child to eat before coming to school.
5.PLEASE remind them to wash their hands frequently. It is the best way to prevent the spread of germs.
6. We encourage your child to bring a reusable water bottle to school to use instead of using the water fountain. Students can fill their water bottles at school.
WE HAVE FOUND A PAIR OF CLEAR FRAME GLASSES IN A BLACK EYE GLASS CASE. IF YOUR CHILD HAS LOST THEIR GLASSES PLEASE TELL THEM TO COME BY THE NURSE'S OFFICE.
