PRAYER
A Prayer of Oscar Romero
It helps, now and then, to step back and take a long view.
The Kingdom is not only beyond our efforts,
it is even beyond our vision.
We accomplish in our lifetime only a tiny fraction
of the magnificent enterprise that is God’s work.
Nothing we do is complete,
which is a way of saying that the Kingdom always lies beyond us.
No statement says all that could be said.
No prayer fully expresses our faith.
No confession brings perfection.
No pastoral visit brings wholeness.
No program accomplishes the Church’s mission.
No set of goals and objectives includes everything
This is what we are about.
We plant the seeds that one day will grow.
We water seeds already planted,
knowing that they hold future promise.
We lay foundations that will need further development.
We provide yeast that produces effects far beyond our capabilities.
We cannot do everything,
and there is a sense of liberation in realizing that.
This enables us to do something,
and to do it very well.
It may be incomplete, but it is a beginning, a step along the way,
an opportunity for the Lord’s grace to enter and do the rest.
We may never see the end results,
but that is the difference between the master builder and the worker.
We are workers, not master builders;
ministers, not messiahs.
We are prophets of a future that is not our own.
Amen.

FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Last Sunday we had a beautiful First Communion celebration for our 2nd graders and other students who prepared for the sacrament. Thank you to Miss Villano for preparing the students during the year and for organizing parent meetings and the celebration.
Fun Run 2023
The Fun Run has arrived, and the students get to participate in it tomorrow.
The fun run times are:
1:30pm - Grades Preschool to Grade 4
2:05pm – Grades 5 to Grades 8
Students can wear their PE uniform along with the t-shirt color for their grade:
Grade Preschool - Neon
Grade K – Gray
Grade 1 – Black
Grade 2 – Green
Grade 3 – White
Grade 4 – Red
Grade 5 – Orange
Grade 6 – Blue
Grade 7 – Purple
Grade 8 – Yellow
I wish to thank everyone who has supported the fun run this year. There are still 40% of students who have not contributed yet. It would be great if these students could contribute over the next couple of days. I am hoping to reach our target of $40,000 but unfortunately that is not the net profit that the school will receive. The company’s cut is 20%.
Baseball and Volleyball Sign-Ups
The Athletics department is requesting for students to sign up for either baseball or volleyball for next season. The department needs to know the numbers so they can plan for coaches and set times for training and to give the PPSL an indicator of how many teams the school is hosting.
You need to complete the form for each child if you have more than one child in the family. Click here to complete the form. For athletic enquiries contact Matt Ayon at athletics@ssfallsoulsschool.org
Washington DC Trip
The weekend of May 20th, our 8th graders will depart for Washington DC for 5 days. Thanks to Miss Cadelago for planning and organizing the trip.
Molloy’s Night
Thanks to the school board members for organizing a successful night for the parents and guardians recently. It was a fun night had by all.
Speed Zone Reduction
I had a meeting this week with the Engineering division of South San Francisco regarding a proposal for speed reduction around South San Francisco schools. Once the council approvals this new signage will be posted around schools indicating new speed zones. This should be happening over the next couple of months.
School Calendar 2023-2024
Our school calendar for next school year is now available in SchoolSpeak under School/Quick links/calendar. You may find a printable version of the calendar on our school website.
