McKinley will be participating in Global Play Day on February 7th! Schools from around the world participate in Global Play Day on the first Wednesday of February. Students will have opportunities to play, create, and have fun (screen free)! If you are interested in volunteering on Global Play Day, reach out to your student's teacher!

Reminder: There is no parking in the traffic circles during drop-off in the morning. If you would like to walk your student into school, please park on the street or in the fairgrounds parking lot. Parked cars in the traffic circle cause traffic congestion and unsafe situations. Thank you for your help with this!

We are looking for crossing guard volunteers in the morning for the front of school. If you are available to help before or after school, please reach out to Mrs. Costello (ccostello@petk12.org)

Priority registration is open for TK-6th grade for the 24-25 school year. This enrollment is for new students or students who are not currently enrolled at McKinley. Reach out if you have questions or visit PCS website for enrollment information!

We are excited to announce the opening of our 2024 PCS Elementary Soccer League! No previous experience is required to participate. All are welcome & coaches are needed!

Beginning the week of February 26th, school-based teams will practice and scrimmage at each school site each week throughout March and April and participate in a final tournament with all PCS schools on April 26th. Practices will be held on either Tuesdays or Thursdays right after school at your child’s school site. We are hoping to form multiple teams at each school and group students by grade level.

If you are interested in signing your child up for their school team, please fill out the registration form and liability waiver (one per child) no later than February 2nd. You may print this form or stop by your school office for a copy of the liability waiver. Please return all waiver forms to Becky Lofton (rlofton@petk12.org) or return them to your school office along with the $40 suggested donation (checks should be made payable to Petaluma City Schools). Please note that all students are welcome to participate at no cost. The suggested $40 donation helps offset the cost of the soccer league and tournament, however it is not required. Donations of any amount will be accepted.

• Our Mustang Social planning is underway! The Mustang Social is an annual adults-only event that includes dinner, drinks, auction, and a rockin’ dance party :) Our tentative event date is Saturday, April 27th. Mark your calendars and we will have more information to share soon!

• Do you have an item, theme basket, or buy-in party to donate to the raffle or silent auction? If so please bring it to the front office and let them know it is for our spring fundraiser event. This is a great time to reach out to your favorite businesses to see if they will donate an item or experience to the McKinley Elementary PTA. We are a non-profit and will supply our Tax ID number to all donors. You can email mckptapres@gmail.com with any questions!
