Holy Cross Catholic School
From the Desk of Mrs. Wagner
September 24
Have you seen the word "Believe" a lot lately? Believe has various meanings. It can mean accepting something as true, genuine, or real. It means having faith in something, such as oneself, or having a confident attitude towards God.
Some might already know that the buzz around the word "Believe" comes from the hit show Ted Lasso. The writer and star of the show, Jason Sudeikis, is an alumnus of Holy Cross. Most recently, he won an Emmy for the show and it has been fun watching his success. I personally have not seen it, but I can't help but think that there is no coincidence that he created a series with the word Believe as the inspiration for his team. Our sole purpose here at Holy Cross is to teach our students to BELIEVE.
I assume Jason Sudeikis learned the true meaning of belief in these same Holy Cross walls. Anyone that enters this building feels the presence of God is so powerful that our belief becomes stronger. We believe in God, His children, our staff, and each other. We have had moments at Holy Cross where all we had left was to believe that God was going to provide and He sure did. Throughout the years of Holy Cross the one constant is our faith in God...we believe. Since this word holds many meanings, I think it would be cool for us to have a Believe sign in our gym to remind us we are a school of believers in Christ and believers in ourselves. When our Holy Cross students graduate, we will know they will be successful no matter what path they take as long as they believe.
