P-H-M handed out its first Teacher Impact Awards on Friday, September 15. New this year, the P-H-M Impact Award is being presented to educators who have helped their students achieve individual academic growth on their formative assessments over time.

We are proud to share that the Mustang 5th grade co-teaching team of Lexie Banks and Erin Horvath had the two highest Math growth scores for 5th grade in P-H-M! (These growth scores were reflected in the 2022-23 ILEARN scores.)

It was so good to see so many of you at the Homecoming Parade on Friday! I loved seeing so many families there representing Mary Frank.

We are looking forward to our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences this year. The dates are Tuesday, October 17th, and Wednesday, October 18th. Your child's classroom teacher will be reaching out to you soon to give you information regarding your child's conference. Below is a link to more information regarding conferences.

Thank you to those of you who have emailed me regarding upcoming family vacation dates. Please remember that those must be approved in order to be excused. For daily absences, please continue to email maryfrankattendance.k12.in.us. I also strongly encourage you to take vacation days away from school wisely. While we understand that not every family can vacation according to the school calendar, school attendance is critical. Now that the season has changed to fall and winter is not far behind, sick days will also come along.

With regards to Skyward, please log in and fill out the online forms. If you have done so already - THANK YOU! These forms should include emergency contact information, mandatory curriculum, and photo consent. These forms only take a couple of minutes.

Fall break is coming up on October 20 - 23 and I hope you have an enjoyable time with your family.

The Literati Book Fair is coming!

Come get clued in to the best new books on October 12, 13, 16, 17 and 18. Every purchase benefits our school.

Parents can preview the online fair and purchase gift cards in advance to make checkout easier for students at efairs.literati.com and type in Mary Frank.

Students will have time to shop and make a wish list during their scheduled library class time.

Parents may shop on October 17, 2:30 - 5:30 p.m. and October 18, 3:00 - 7:00 p.m.

No Popcorn Friday in October due to an eventful month!

Upcoming Fundraisers!

October 2nd - October 16th, Ben's Pretzel and Cinnamon Roll Kits Fundraiser! Order forms will be sent home with each student! The grade with the most sales will have a Pretzel Party! Pick-up will be November 17th/18th.

October 5th, Panera Bread is partnering with us for a “give back night”. Order between 4 pm - 8 pm on October 5th and 20% of what is spent will go to Mary Frank! A voucher will be posted on social media and sent home with students for dine-in or carry-out. Bring the flyer or show a digital copy to your cashier when ordering at the cafe or enter the promo code FUND4U at checkout on or the Panera App.

October's “Smile & Share”

We know our Mustangs are busy with Fall extracurricular activities so it’s time to “Smile & Share”! These pictures can include anything from sports to just hanging out with multiple Mustangs. If you play on a team with other Mary Frank students or hang out with Mary Frank friends, snap a group pic together!

Book Fair

October 12th-18th, Mrs. Heckaman will be looking for volunteers to help check out students during library time. Sign up Genius will be posted two weeks prior to the book fair!

Stock the Lounge

Parent- Teacher Conferences are October 17th - October 18th. Please help us stock the teacher's lounge! We will be asking for donations through Sign-up Genius. All donations can be dropped off at the office starting today and through October 13th.

Office hours are 7-3:30 pm.

Fall Festival

October 26th 5pm- 8pm will be our Mary Frank Fall Festival! We will have food trucks, a balloon artist, DJ, games, Trunk or Treat, Photo booths and costume dress-up opportunities!
