HISD Families - I cannot believe it is time for cooler weather and the Thanksgiving break! This year is moving quickly, and this November newsletter will let you know about a few items coming up. This past week has again reminded me why I love being a Henrietta Bearcat! We made this past week the Bearcats Give Back Week and it kicked off with World Kindness Day on Monday. Throughout the week, we have talked to the students about how to be kind and help give back in their community. Check out some of the activities they completed this week through those discussions. I am super proud of how they continue to learn how to help others, especially during the Thanksgiving time. We are out of school next week so please enjoy the time off with your families and friends. We will see you all back on November 27th!

Special Session #4 is currently in progress and school funding is still being debated. On November 17th, the house voted to approve an amendment to take ESA ( Education Savings Accounts) out of the HB School Funding Bill. It is still a long road to getting new school funding approved so we will continue to see what happens with those decision at the capital. Thank you to all our community members that continue to reach out to their legislators with concerns. I will continue to keep you informed on any developments.

The 5th grade class volunteered at the food pantry this week.

The high school, junior high and elementary wrote letters to the troops deployed during the holidays.

Ms. Morris' 1st grade class created a great video about their learning this week!

Some of our junior high students shared about they can serve their community.

Our HISD Food Service Team fed our students, staff and school board a Thanksgiving meal this week. So yummy!

Our HISD School Board delivered Christmas bonuses to all staff members on Friday! What a great way to end the week!
