Hello Heath Brook families,

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer.

We will be mailing out teacher placement letters next week. These will come by way of your mailbox, so please be on the lookout for them. Aspen will not update until later in August and only grade 1 families will have access to their Aspen accounts until K families get access later in the year (sorry PK families, you will have to wait until Kindergarten).

Please know that our teachers worked very hard to ensure that students were placed appropriately and we created the most balanced classroom environment. Your child may not have been placed with his or her friend or with a teacher that an older sibling may have had, but each placement was purposefully made. As such, I ask that families approach student placement with positivity.

Supplies: : Even though we can provide virtually everything students need in terms of school supplies, families sometimes like to purchase them. Here is a suggested list. 2324 Heath Brook Suggested Supplies.

Save the date(s) for the following Orientations/Open Houses. Flyer has been posted on Website/Facebook and will be mailed in the placement letters.

Monday, August 28, 2023-Kindergarten Orientation

4:00-5:30 PM (please plan to stay the entire time)
PAC Playground Social for K immediately Following (5:30).

Tuesday, August 29, 2023-Preschool Orientation

3:30-4:30-PM Preschool
PAC Playground Social for PK beginning at 4:30

Wednesday, August 30th-First day of school for all students

Friday, September 1 and Monday September 4-No School-Labor Day Recess

Tuesday, September 19, 2023-Grade 1 Open House

5:30-7:30 (parents/guardians only)

In the coming week or so, I will send out a welcome email with important information as it pertains to arrival/dismissal, medication drop off, student handbook and emergency contact information. Please be prepared to complete a few forms online prior to the start of school.

I hope you enjoy the last couple of weeks of summer! Hopefully, yesterday's rain was the last for a while! I look forward to a great school year.

Understanding Love

Learning and loving go hand in hand. [Mr. Rogers'] grandfather was one of those people who loved to live and loved to teach. Every time his grandchild was with him, he'd show them something about the world or something about themselves that they hadn't even thought of yet. He'd help them find something wonderful in the smallest of things, and ever so carefully, he helped them understand the enormous worth of every human being. His grandfather was not a professional teacher, but the way he loved his grandchildren and the things he did with them, served them as well as any teacher they'd ever known.
