NVLA SOT Parent Nominations
Greetings,
NVLA is looking for six (6) parents to serve on our School Organization Team for the 23-24 school year. There will be 2 parents for elementary, 2 parents for middle school, and 2 parents for high school. Each CCSD school has created a School Organization Team (SOT) made up of elected licensed staff, education support professionals, parents/guardians, and students, as well as one or more optional, non-elected community members who will assist the principal in making important decisions impacting the school.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL ORGANIZATION TEAM?
- Provide input on the school performance plan and budget.
- Provide continued advice to the principal in carrying out the school plan.
- Assist with the selection of the next principal when there is a vacancy.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS OF TEAM MEMBERS?
- Serve on the team through September 30, 2024, unless you no longer attend the school.
- Attend meetings at least once per month outside of school hours.
- Make decisions with the whole school population in mind.
- Work collaboratively in an attempt to reach a consensus with the team.
(Student representative is a non-voting member of the team.)
If you are interested in serving, please complete the nomination form below by the end of the day (3:11 pm) on Friday, September 15th, 2023. Voting will take place on Tuesday, September 19th. Another Google Form will go out with all the candidates on the voting day.
