Dear Family,

My name is Diana Surzhko, and I am reaching out on behalf of the YMCA of Greater Boston as your child has been recommended for our Power Scholars Program. Power Scholars is a 5-week summer learning program with the goal of combating summer learning loss, engaging child’s interest and curiosity, inspiring academic success and encouraging children’s love for learning. The Power Scholars program offers a unique experience for students, as it offers academic programming, while still providing a camp experience through enrichment activities such as Arts and Crafts, Sports, Swimming, Performance Arts, field trips, and more. The Power Scholars program runs from July 7 th -August 8 th with the hours of 7:30am-5:30pm. Scholars spend 3 hours every morning in a classroom with a licensed teacher spending 90 minutes learning literacy and 90 minutes on mathematics. In the afternoon, students will engage in a variety of enrichment activities. On Fridays, children will take a break from academics and will attend a field trip. Some of the field trips that we attended in the past include zoo, museums, trampoline park, bowling, and more!

We are happy to provide financial assistance and remove barriers enabling children to attend our programs.

We will have our Before School Program once again this year, run by our 1st Grade Teacher Kristen Merullo. Please find the sign up paperwork below.

The Woburn YMCA Afterschool Program is available at Reeves Elementary School after the school day. It is housed in our cafeteria, gymnasium, and playground. Please take a moment to read the attached documents if you have interest in joining.
