The Wildcat Week Ahead
October 25-27
Welcome to A New Week!
Hey Wildcats!
It was a challenging week with illness at school. If you see a teacher or staff member, thank them for helping to cover classes. It's not an easy task! I also wanted to say thank you for your support last Friday when we needed to close. That decision is never an easy one to make, but without the staff to support kids, it wasn't an ideal situation for anyone.
Please stay home if you're sick. We saw COVID numbers climb slightly and people who are testing one day and then the next are seeing negative results turn positive. Guidance from the Department of Health is linked below.
We continue to encourage lots of handwashing and wiping down of surfaces, and the best prevention is to stay home when you're ill.
This week is short but jam packed! It's Spirit Week!
Wednesday- Wear your grade color
- K = 💙
- 1 = ❤️
- 2 = 💚

Thursday- PJ/Crazy hair day
Friday- School colors day (black, red, white) or anything GIS related! If you don't have GIS gear and want some, please check out our 1st Place Spirit Wear link.
This week is a Day 3, Day 4, and Day 5 day. No Unified Friday this week.
As always, thanks for all you do, and my door and inbox are always open,
Mrs. H

- Fake weapons.
- Wear a mask, except for our Halloween parade.
- Have any amount of gore or blood as part of their costume.
- Expensive costume parts. We don't want anything to happen to costumes.
Kiddos should also be prepared to still attend PE, if they have it, and recess. Please pack a change of clothes if it's necessary.
Beanstack
GIS has a goal of reading 500,000 minutes this year! We are currently at 1,500 minutes!
You can access your kiddo's account by searching for Grand Isle on the Beanstack website or by using their Clever login. If you need help with that, please let me know.
Take Home Math and Literacy Games
We're starting to put together some math and literacy games for families to take home. These games will come in a pouch that you take which has an inventory list, instructions, and the game. You will be able to sign the games in and out in the front lobby. My hope is to have this up and running by November 1st!
Grand Isle Family Book Club
Books will be going home by the end of this week.
