Pacific Sky Family Update
Principal's Weekly Message 10/30 - 11/3
Dear Pacific Sky Families,
This is sure to be an exciting week! Please remember that students are welcome to wear costumes to school on Tuesday, 10/31. However, because we have limited use in the restrooms, costumes should stay on all day or be worn over regular clothes to be easily taken off in the classroom.
We will have a Halloween Parade on the morning of Tuesday, October 31st. Parents are welcome to attend. The parade will start promptly at 8:15am on our blacktop. After the parade, we kindly ask that all parents exit the front office so that we can secure our gates for the school day. If you are volunteering, please check in at the front office before going to your child's classroom studio. Please note that the office will be closed at 8:15am for the parade, so please be on time to school.
Costume selection: We ask for your help in the selection of appropriate costumes, and for wise parental judgment in what you allow your child to wear to school on this day. Costumes should be appropriate for all students in the K-6 age range (5–12 years old). Please encourage your child to select a costume reflecting a positive emphasis, such as a storybook character or a humorous or playful depiction of everyday life. Students may not bring toy knives, guns or any weapons, and may not use blood or wear scary masks. In addition, please be cognizant of the diversity within our school community and refrain from selecting a costume that could be offensive to members of our diverse population.
Additionally, we are excited to invite you to our upcoming Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Parent/Guardian Session on November 2nd. We will explore how our district works to create a safe and inclusive environment for all students, including those who are gender diverse. This session will give you the opportunity to learn more about our commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and how you can contribute to our efforts. This event will be co-facilitated by several of our staff (Mrs. Sorenson, Mrs. Brand, Mrs. Park and Ms. Silk) as we share our school site’s efforts to promote a welcoming and supportive school culture.
Childcare and pizza will be offered. Pizza will be provided starting at 5:30pm. While you attend our parent session starting at 6:00pm, childcare will be provided. Childcare is limited and only available for school-age children, so please signup as soon as possible. The signup form is located HERE.
Lastly, our PTA will be hosting our first annual Tall Small Ball Dance, THIS Friday, November 3rd. Please RSVP HERE. Pleas see further information below. It is sure to be a memorable night!
With excitement for a fun week ahead,
Chelsea Moore, Principal

Please see HERE for our STEAM+ Spotlight with our Music Teacher, Mrs. Davies.
At Pacific Sky, Mrs. Davies engages students in lessons that allow them to develop a solid foundation in music literacy. Students learn to express themselves through movement, singing, playing musical instruments, and the dramatic arts. Mrs. Davies will expose students to music from around the world to develop empathy and appreciation for the historical context of music. Student interests are honored and developed as they learn and study contemporary music.
