Complete the All in for Avoca 37 Survey
And share it with your neighbors who do not have students in our schools. The All In Facilitating Team and the Board need a true sample of respondents from our community in order to get an authentic picture of our community's perspective on the options available.
The Facilitating Team uses the survey results and feedback from the Open Houses to compile a report to the Board that describes the community's feedback. The Board then uses that report to deliberate on which option they might put on a referendum ballot, likely in March 2023.
If you have not already completed this longer survey, please do so now. It closes November 6. And please forward the link to your neighbors. That's the only way each of us can be All In!
Have you thanked a principal?
Next week will wind up National Principal's Month. Principals are the glue that bind great teachers and students and families together in a culture that fulfills our mission to Inspire Curiosity, Cultivate Academic Growth, and Nurture Diversity.
Before October slips away, see if you can drop an email or note of thanks to your child's principal. Ms. Hutchison and Ms. Ryan are the best and deserve our thanks.

Portrait of a Graduate Spotlight
So many of our Portrait of a Graduate characteristics are not just important for success in school but important for living a full life as a citizen who contributes positively to their community.
We work to recognize our students regularly for when they exhibit the characteristics embodied in the Portrait and we work to do so in a constructive way. Just like our students do not always perfectly exhibit these characteristics, we at school are not always able to stop to highlight a given characteristic. Our focus is on positive reinforcement that accumulates over time.
And we need your help. These are characteristics that students can and do exhibit at home and that we can reinforce positively at home when appropriate. The Portrait was born out of community engagement and we need our community to help sustain it over time.
