Welcome to the 2023-24 School Year!
Dear Woodland families,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I have been an educator for 22 years. The first 16 years of my career I taught grades 4, 5, & 6. In 2017, I began my administrative career as an elementary Dean of Students. Then, in 2021, I accepted the position as the Assistant Principal at Renwood and Parma Park Elementary schools with the Parma City Schools. In 2022, I accepted the position of Principal of Renwood Elementary School. Renwood closed at the conclusion of the 2022-23 school year, which led me to the principal position at Woodland.
My beliefs as an educator include:
All students can learn and all students have gifts and talents that can and should be recognized.
Educators need to support the whole child - academically, socially, and emotionally.
The growth that a child makes in a year (academically, socially, emotionally) should be recognized and celebrated as much as that child’s achievement.
Schools succeed when they have the support of families, students, and the community. My role as a leader is to help bring all those pieces together for the students in my building.
The 2023-24 school year will bring challenges and opportunities for growth for the entire Woodland school family. I look forward to working with the Woodland staff to continue the positive academic and social development that the Stow Munroe Falls City Schools are known for. I look forward to working with the Woodland families and PTA to continue to honor and recognize our students for their many accomplishments. And I look forward to working with the Woodland school community to continue to offer an outstanding education for all of our Woodland students.
I am excited to work with the entire Woodland staff to create a safe, positive, and engaging learning community that builds a foundation for lifelong success for our Bulldog students. I can be reached at (330) 689-5470 with any questions or concerns. I am excited to be the next Principal of Woodland Elementary!
