HAPPY NEW YEAR!

It is hard to believe that we are beyond the holiday season and approaching the halfway point of the school year. The staff continue to work diligently to provide a high quality education for all of your children. The students are moving along with their ELA program with the second grade working on Greek Mythology, third grade using their senses learning about sound and light, while the fourth grade is doing their “Eureka” unit all about inventions. It is amazing how the reading program incorporates such exciting topics in each unit.

Speaking of reading, HES is currently in the middle of a read-a-thon at HES. The students were provided a worksheet where they are to shade a penguin for every twenty minutes of reading they do. We are tallying up the totals in a friendly spirited competition between homerooms. Keep up the good work, as the read-a-thon ends at the end of January.

There are a lot of great things happening in our community that can have a positive effect on Heritage school and its students. Many of our local agencies and support groups have events and registrations upcoming so please take a look at the information below.
