Introducing the Ram Wellness Program!
This school-based behavioral health program is operated by the Health Department of Northwest Michigan in collaboration with Harbor Springs Public Schools. With parental/guardian permission, one of the two licensed clinical social workers offers individual, group, and family therapy located right in our schools.
Topics/Areas of Treatment Include: Anxiety; Depression; Anger management; Relationship/social skills issues; Grief/loss; Family stressors; Parenting support strategies; Managing behavior and emotions; and Developing healthy coping strategies.
Amy Beck M.S.W. (Ms. Amy) will be working with our elementary school students and families.
More from Ms. Amy:
Thank you all for such a warm welcome! I moved to Harbor Springs from the Detroit area after working as a Social Worker at the Detroit Medical Center/Karmanos Cancer Hospital counseling adults and kids with serious illnesses. I graduated from Purdue University and came back to Michigan for graduate school at Eastern Michigan University. I love to travel and truly believe that northern Michigan and Italy are two of the most beautiful places on the planet.
I look forward to working with all of you.
Sincerely,
Amy Beck, MA, LMSW

Cold and Flu Season is now upon us....
Please keep your children home if they are sick. If your child has a cough, or has had a fever or vomited within the PAST 24 HOURS, they should not come to school! Thank you for helping to keep our kids healthy.
Coming Soon in PE
Some of you have received e-mails from Spirit IHT. Students have had a chance to wear Heart Rate Monitors during PE class that help them keep track of their effort and heart rate zone they are working in. Soon you will start receiving e-mails on a regular basis that summarizes their work in PE for that day. I look for students to work at or above the heart rate zone that I have set for that day/activity. If your child had PE and you don't receive an e-mail by January 31st with a summary, please contact me so that we can check to see if your e-mail address is entered correctly into the system. You can contact me by e-mail kholzschu@harborps.org or leave a voicemail at 524-4531 and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
Have a great start to 2020 and get outside and enjoy all that northern Michigan has to offer.
NEW! All K-12 students can get in FREE to all sporting events. Come out and support our RAMS!
Our annual Hoops for Troops basketball game to support our veterans will be next Friday.
