Cape's Mission & Vision
Vision: We believe that the most promising strategy for achieving the mission of Cape Elementary is to develop our capacity to function as a professional learning community.
Message from Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund
Dear Cape Families,
April brought an abundance of joy to Cape Elementary. Our PTO Spring Fling saw a fantastic turnout, and we extend our gratitude to everyone who joined us for the festivities.
Our Quarter 3 SOAR celebration was a huge success, earning rave reviews from our students who described it as "off the charts," "so cool," and "the best ever." Those who achieved their behavior and reading goals were treated to a GLOW Party featuring exciting glow-in-the-dark games. A heartfelt thank you goes out to the PTO for generously funding this memorable event for our students.
Over the next three weeks, we will be doing state testing across all grades. Check out our newsletter for the exact dates and which grades are involved. Our students have poured their hearts into their studies this year, overcoming various challenges along the way. Now, it's their chance to showcase their knowledge and skills. Let's cheer them on as they shine bright during this important time!
Please make sure your children are:
well rested
fed a nutritious breakfast
sent off with love, smiles and hugs
at school each day by 7:45
Don't forget to mark your calendars: Staff Appreciation Week at Cape Elementary is happening from May 6 to May 10. Take a moment to express your gratitude to a teacher or staff member during this special week. We have a lineup of delightful treats and activities planned to celebrate our hardworking staff throughout the week. A big shoutout to Grand Canyon University, Metro Diner, Greek Spot, Cape Vineyards Community Church, and our incredible PTO for their generous donations. If you'd like to contribute by donating treats or $10 gift cards for our staff raffle, please reach out to us at NicoleDO@leeschools.net or drop them off at Cape's front office. A heartfelt thank you to the families who have already donated gift cards! Your support is invaluable in demonstrating our love and appreciation for our dedicated staff.
Cape will have Celebrations of Learning, end of year awards ceremonies, for Kindergarten to 4th grade and 5th Grade will have a Completion Ceremony. Please look for dates and times in this newsletter and on our website for specific times and mark your calendars now.
Cape Elementary is a special place to work. We feel privileged to serve as the leaders of this outstanding school! Don't hesitate to reach out to us via email or phone whenever you have any concerns, questions, or comments. Your feedback is always valued and appreciated!
Sincerely,
Ms. Osterholm and Mrs. Sund

PTO News!
The end of the 2023-2024 school year is almost here! We are so thankful for each and every person who has helped support our great school! Cape PTO just purchased a $35,000 structure for new swings for the playground and to expand the Kaboom play area. This is in addition to our regular contributions of school supplies, SOAR celebrations, library books, field trip buses and so much more! This would not have been possible without our wonderful parents and guardians.
Our Spring Fling Carnival was a HUGE success! We had a record number in attendance and the teacher’s carnival games made so many tickets for each grade that we are still counting them! Thank you to all the volunteers that helped us!
Our online Spring Fling Auction raised just under $15,500! It was our largest auction ever! Thank you to all who bid on the wonderful items provided by members of our amazing community!
The last PTO meeting of the year will be on May 7th at 6:00pm via Microsoft Meets. We will be electing board members for the 24-25 school year. We will have 2 positions that need to be filled. Please plan to attend to find out what we've been up to. Reach out if you are interested in becoming a part of our PTO board or just helping out!
With Gratitude!
