Star Stories

7th graders from Mr. Acred's classes are starting science research to be used for their Star Stories. They are gathering information on stars and constellations and including it in the creative stories they will be writing.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND DIGITAL FOOTPRINTS

Our 8th graders examined the concept of identifying reasons for using social media and the challenges that often come with it. They reflected on what responsibilities they have related to their own and others' digital footprints, when using social media.

READ ACROSS AMERICA IS COMING SOON!

Read Across America is an initiative created by the National Education Association to promote reading, on Dr. Seuss's birthday. Everyone at Patton will be reading at the same time for five minutes the morning of March 2nd. If you are in our school at 7:45AM, prepare to read!

Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood

This month, our LEAD class has been focusing on Habit #5 - Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. The key concept of the Habit is to listen to other people's feelings and ideas, without interrupting. It is important to look people in the eyes while they are talking and concentrate on what they are saying, before reacting. Habit #5 is all about communication.
