DREAM. LEARN. ACHIEVE.
Please complete the below survey. Our goal is to get 100% completed!
Impact Aid Survey
Impact your child’s learning by completing the 2023-24 Federal Impact Aid survey
A quick survey that takes five minutes to fill out can generate thousands of dollars in funding for textbooks, materials, hiring staff and educators and more military student support.
It’s the 2023-24 Federal Impact Aid form, and all parents who have children enrolled in the Peninsula School District received a Parent Square message inviting them to complete the survey. Please login to your Parent Square and fill out the form.
What is the 2023 Federal Impact Aid Survey?
The Impact Aid Survey is really a brief form used by the federal government to determine whether a family is federally connected. A parent/guardian is federally connected if:
- They live in federally supported housing.
- They work on federal property.
- They are active-duty.
- They are an active full-time member of a foreign military.
The federal government collects this data from school districts and reimburses the districts thousands of dollars of lost revenue from federally connected properties.
Why is completing the form important?
We know many of our families are federally connected, and our district has the potential to receive federal funding from this grant, to provide resources to help every student succeed. Funds can be used toward the purchase of textbooks, materials, transportation, personnel and other education related expenditures, based on the number of federally-connected students enrolled in our schools.
That’s why our district asks families to complete the federal Impact Aid Survey each fall. The survey helps determine whether a student is federally connected. To complete the survey, go to your Parent Square account and click on the post, “Please complete the 2023-2024 Impact Aid Survey.” All responses will be kept confidential.

Theme of the Month
Hello Artondale Families,
This month we are focusing on growth mindset. Other words that mean growth mindset are perseverance, grit, and positive thinking. Our definition is - growth mindset is when we know with practice, we will get better at something. Classes are having discussions in their classrooms about how to have a growth mindset and reviewing their goals that they set in October.
Next month's theme: Inclusive

Gig Harbor Has Talent!
The Kiwanis Club of Gig Harbor is coordinating the Gig Harbor Has Talent show for the second year in a row. This event is a youth talent showcase, not a competition. The event will take place on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Swiftwater Elementary across the street from the YMCA. Doors open at 2:00pm. Admission to the talent show will again be FREE to the public and everyone is welcome!
Gig Harbor / Key Peninsula area students, kindergarten through eighth grade, are invited to submit an online application and upload a one-minute audition video for a chance at being one of the youth performers in the show. Students, with the help of their parents, can apply any time between now and February 5th. Here is the link to the online application… GHHT Student Online Application
The first year was a wonderful success with over 300 attendees enjoying twenty-one youth talent acts which included singers, dancers, magicians, a comedian, a yo-yo master, three aerialists, and a number of musicians. Sponsorship secured for the event will be shared with SIX local non-profit organizations who help children and families. Email gigharborkiwanis@outlook.com if you have questions.
