Hold onto your Bucket!
January 25th - 29th
How do you hold onto your gratitude bucket?!
As the best educators out there, I know that you give it all to your students. You give yourself, your care, your compassion and your expertise. Sometimes there are those special moments when you are acknowledged for the educator that you are - from a parent, colleague, friend, or fill in the blank. How do you hold onto and remember those moments.
This past week, I had the opportunity to be in an IEP meeting with Kaleb Olsen, learning specialist from Willamette, when a parent gave him a beautiful compliment. The kind that makes the room take a big breath. The kind that brings tears to my eyes and those in the room. My question to Kaleb was, "how are you going to remember this? You need to hold onto this."
This work can be so challenging and when we give so much of ourselves to it, those moments deserve to be revisited, because you are making a difference. You mean the world to your students and families. So, I am going to pose it to all of you. How do you hold onto your gratitude bucket? You deserve those memores.
