Message from the Principal (New)
Hello, Belding families!
Today, I had the opportunity to travel to the state wrestling tournament at Ford Field to cheer on our incredible student-athletes as they competed at the highest level. Four wrestlers qualified for the State Finals, and all of them wrestled at Belding Middle School during their middle school years. Their hard work, dedication, and perseverance are truly inspiring, and I couldn’t be prouder of how they represent Belding both on and off the mat. If you see them around school or in the community, be sure to congratulate them on their achievements!
Back at school, we continue to see progress on several minor projects as part of our ongoing bond improvements. These updates are refreshing our building while also enhancing security, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all students and staff. Whether it’s updated infrastructure like air handlers, improved security measures around vital gas pipes and electrical boxes, or refreshed spaces like new paint in the gym, these projects are making a positive impact on our school.
Thank you again for supporting the bond and trusting us to make BMS the best place it can be. I consistently hear from new families and returning students that these improvements have made a huge difference in our school!
As a reminder, next Friday is a Half-Day of school for students and BMS will dismiss at 10:25AM. Happy Friday and Go Black Knights!
Sincerely,
Joe Barron, Principal

Counseling Corner
This past week the 8th grade students have been doing various activities that are aimed at helping them learn about themselves and hopefully helping them what careers may be of interest to them in their future. The most important thing is that students become of aware of different career possibilities that are aligned with their interests, their personality, and what they truly enjoy. The goal is that by the time they graduate from high school, students have a direction for their future career. All 8th grade students explored several careers that were a good fit for them. Next week they will also explore different trade schools, colleges, or universities that they could attend that offer programs in their area of interest. Ask your student to show you what they have been working on in a computer program called “Naviance” and will be a program they use through the 12th grade. I was so proud of all our students—they took this very seriously! In a couple of weeks all our 7th grade students will be completing the same activities.
