Fall into 4-H Independent Learning kits
Fall into 4-H with some creative, at home learning projects. This fall themed kit will include four different projects and explore a variety of areas. Each activity will include the primary supplies, instructions, and additional information needed to create the different projects/activities. These easy projects will allow 4-H members some creative time to do things independently, work together with siblings or other 4-H members, and build off of their learning. Plus, all projects can be utilized as exhibits at next year’s county fair.
Audience: All ages are welcome to participate!
Registration: Register each 4Her HERE!
Deadline: The deadline to register for your project kit is November 9, 2023
4-H Fair Plaque Additions
Moving forward, the first time a 4-Her is recognized for an overall award they will receive an individualized plaque with the plates titling the award received. Every year after that the 4-H member will receive the plates to add to their already received plaque.
With many already receiving their plaque we have some questions come up asking if members could acquire previous year awards? The answer is yes, if you would like additional award plates from years prior to 2023 we can do that, with a few things to know.
Each plate is $1.50, the cost of each plate will be ordered at the expense of the 4-H family that requests them. We will do orders for these only a couple times of the year (August & October when we are ordering other awards), unless we have a large request at a different time period.
If you would indeed like to invest in additional plates you will need to email Macy at mhulstei@umn.edu by Thursday, October 18. If you have any additional questions in regards to the 4-H Fair Plaques or other awards please contact 4-H staff.
Please complete volunteer renewal by Nov. 15
On Sept. 15, all volunteers who were ‘Approved’ in program Year 2022 - 2023 were moved to a ‘Not-Enrolled’ status in 4-H Online.
If you need to renew as a volunteer, you should have received an email communication from 4-H staff with instructions for completing volunteer renewal. Please complete the renewal steps by Nov. 15 to restore your ‘Approved’ status.
If you do not need to renew as a volunteer, you should have received an email communication from 4-H staff with a notice that 4-H staff will manually update your status to ‘Approved’ in 4-H Online.
Remember, eligibility to volunteer does not mean a commitment to volunteer! Contact your local 4-H Extension educator if you wish to discontinue your volunteer service. Additional information about volunteer renewal is available from the 4-H Volunteer Resource Center.

I was in 4-H last year and want to continue, now what do I do?
Welcome back! We are so glad to have you continue your 4-H journey.
So you want to participate in 4-H, the steps are pretty easy. To start with you'll need to re-enroll or re-join. We ask that members re-enroll each year to ensure that 4-H staff understand that individuals want to continue in the program. This also ensures that staff, club leaders, and other volunteers have correct contact and project area interest information for each member. Re-enrollment can be completed online at mn.4honline.com, via paper enrollment form, or by contacting 4-H staff via phone at the Extension Office at 507-825-1190.
After you have completed the re-enrollment process members can continue participating in their chosen club and areas of interest. Members are encouraged to join and participate in activities throughout the year, sometimes it may be easier to start in something new when the beginning of the year rolls around. 4-H families are encouraged to take a look at the project areas they can explore as well as keep an eye on the 4-H calendar so not to miss out on any fun 4-H events.
