Dear Parents and Guardians,
As we dive into another week of learning adventures at MIS , we'd like to bring your attention to some important updates and reminders.
This week marks another round of benchmarking assessments, with our 5th-grade students scheduled to benchmark from Monday to Wednesday. These assessments play a crucial role in tracking their progress and ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed academically. As a result, 5th-grade tutorials will be suspended during these days but will resume on Thursday after school. Third and 4th-grade tutorials will continue as usual.
We cannot stress enough the importance of students being present in school every day. Each day presents valuable opportunities for learning and growth, and consistent attendance lays the foundation for success. Additionally, we encourage families to minimize early sign-outs whenever possible. Every minute counts, and we firmly believe that every minute in the classroom is a learning minute.
Mark your calendars for the upcoming Read Across America activities! Please refer to the daily activities listed on the flyer provided below for more details. It's a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the joy of reading and literacy with our students.
We're excited to announce that our annual Field Day is scheduled for Thursday, March 7th, at Pirate Stadium. It promises to be a day filled with fun, and we hope to see all our students and families come out to support this event.
In honor of Earth Day, Mathis Intermediate has partnered with our local HEB for the School Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge. We encourage you to participate by sending in your plastic bags. Let's work together to make a positive impact on our environment!
