BOOK FAIR WEEK
CCS students had a wonderful time this week at the Book Fair!
Students were able to shop at the fair and get their favorite new books. And of course, the dress up days were fun too!
Special thanks to our PTF moms who set up this year's book displays and decorations!
SPAGHETTI NIGHT SUPPER
On Tuesday, September 28th the PTF hosted our first Spaghetti Night event.
It was a fun evening of great food and even better company! Over 400 plates were sold!
Thank you to all that helped make this event possible!
SEE YOU AT THE POLE
Students across the nation gathered around their school flag pole this week to pray.
"See You at the Pole" is a student-initiated, student-organized and student-led event in public schools.
This event reminds us of how very THANKFUL WE ARE to be able TO PRAY WITH OUR STUDENTS at CCS EVERY SINGLE DAY, without hesitation and without fear of persecution. Prayer and praise to God are at the foundation of what we do everyday!
In honor of this event, at CCS, Mr. Yearwood encouraged our students to pray for our country and for students everywhere taking a stand for God in their schools.
FAIR PARADE
We had such a fun time participating in the Cullman County Fair Parade!
CCS was well represented with three floats loaded down with students and five additional entries with pageant winners.
Next year we hope even more CCS students and families will participate!
BUSY WEEK FOR CHORUS & DRAMA STUDENTS
Upper School Chorus and Drama students have been working hard on their upcoming production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" that will feature loads of singing, dancing, and acting.
You will not want to miss it!
As a break from the work and for some inspiration, this week they traveled to Samford University where they saw "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe."
HEALTHY EATING
Our female athletes learned about eating a healthy, well-balanced diet for peak athletic performance from personal trainer, Victoria Moss.
WHAT'S IN YOUR LUNCHBOX?
Students who were working on their creative writing skills took the opportunity to share with Mr. Yearwood what they had written about things they would not like to see in their lunchbox.
DAILY SCRIPTURE
Each day students at CCS hear scripture devotions from Mr. Yearwood. This exercise helps encourage students to daily focus on God's word and learn from it.
OUTDOOR FUN
Mrs. Snow and Mrs. Rutherford's students enjoyed some time outside this week at their outdoor centers.
The kids LOVED IT!

OUR FIRST EVER LETTERMAN'S JACKETS (Upper School)
This year CCS will have its first ever official letterman's jacket!
For many years students stopped ordering jackets, but in the last 5 or so years, the letterman has made a giant comeback. Interestingly enough, their prices are still about the same.
Last week upper school students had the opportunity to look at and try on samples and think about whether or not they were interested. All upper school students are eligible to order. If your student is younger, I would advise considering how much he/she might grow before finishing school.
Our design will feature a navy body with Carolina blue sleeves (a little deeper shade than our typical tshirts). The cost for jackets is roughly $300. I have attached a flyer with specific pricing details based on sizes.
Final orders will be due on October 2nd.
Half of the balance must be paid at the time of the order.
It typically takes about 8 weeks for orders to be completed, so you would have about two months before the remaining balance is due.
VETERANS DAY PROGRAM
Over the next few weeks, students and teachers will be working on a special event for our Veterans.
As a part of this program we would like to share pictures that you may have of family members who have served or are currently serving.
Please watch your email for more information soon!
FAIR QUEEN REPRESENTATIVE
This week our Fair Queen Representative, Miss Gracie Lee has been working at the Oktoberfest activities.
She has worked hard to represent CCS and what it stands for throughout the activities.
We are so proud of her!

Parent/Teacher Conferences
It's a great time of the year to check in with the teacher on your child's progress! CCS teachers are available for conferences. See information from your child's teacher(s) for more information.
Encouraging Visitors
Mr. Yearwood may be stuck sitting in the hallway to rest his knee, but that doesn't keep cute little visitors away. Their little smiles and giggles are a great encouragement!
The University of Alabama
2 Big Things with UA this Week:
- Juniors and Seniors got the chance to ask lots of questions about admission requirements, available majors, and scholarship opportunities when we had a UA visitor on campus.
- Sophomores have the opportunity to be nominated by our school to apply for the Capstone Leadership Academy. Mrs. Yearwood has spoken with them and posted first-step details in their Google classroom.
Fall Decor
The hallways, doors and classrooms are starting to reflect the changing season. Thank you to all the parents and teachers who make everything look so nice!
Apple Sauce
Mrs. Rice's class had a great time making fresh apple sauce in honor of Johnny Appleseed Day.
Celebrating More than Academics
We have had several students recently give their lives to God and show that commitment through baptism. We want to celebrate with them! If you have pictures you would like to share, email them to Mrs. Yearwood.
