4th@HES Learning Guide

We have gone through quite a bit of laptops since August. Some have been returned with shattered screens or missing each of the keys on the keyboard. To ensure we have enough devices for testing (and next year) I believe we need to collect all devices for in school use only. - AWG

Laptops will be collected from students daily and kept in a locked storage cart overnight.

E-Learning students, will still have their laptops, since they are learning from home.

Any items that belong to Hopkins Elementary School should be returned immediately,

Parents, please be aware that we have our state testing for another week; our schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, May 25 - SCReady: Math

Thursday, May 27 - SCPASS: Science

Please be sure that your child/ren receive an adequate night's rest on each night before the test and a nutritious breakfast at home and/or they can eat at school.

4th@HES's Face-To-Face Instruction Model has officially begun. We will meet with students 5 days of each week, in the classroom/on campus. If you have opted for your child to remain home at this time, please be reminded that students are logged in for the entire day using their laptops at home from 7:45am until 2:15pm.

If you have opted for your child to come into the classroom for Face-2-Face Instruction, they must report to the campus/classroom everyday. Failure to do so will result in an absence.

**Students are not allowed to log in online, without prior approval from Mrs. Garner.

Here Are Some Safety Precautions We Will Be Following During The Face-To-Face Model:

• Masks will be required / Double masks if you can.
• Arrival/dismissal times will be staggered.
• Lunch will be delivered to the classroom and students will eat at their desks.
• Students will not travel to Related Arts-- Related Arts Teachers will come to the classroom.
• We have a hand sanitizer station in the classroom.
• We have individual desks with plexiglass shields on top of each desk.
• The desks in the classroom are spaced at least 6 feet apart, and they must stay that way.
• We will have individual supply stations/cubbies for each students (no sharing of materials/supplies is allowed).

• A fully-charged laptop
• Personal headphones ( we have earbuds available, for individual students, or you may bring your own from home, your choice)

Over the next couple of weeks we will work on some projects to help us remember our 4th grade year and prepare for our transition to 5th grade!
