Updates & Announcements
School Calendar Change
There have been a few changes to the school calendar to note. Monday, March 8 and Friday, April 30 will now be Professional Development Days for staff and days off for students. Because of recent weather events and the additional student days off, we will add days to the calendar to fulfill the requirement of 180 days of instruction. As of now June 1 - 4 will be school days for all students. The Graduation ceremony will remain May 28 but the last day for all students is June 4.
There has been much speculation about our ability to host end of year events for our students. The good news is that we are anticipating that the guidelines will allow us to host more events with more opportunities this Spring. I have been working with student leaders and advisors on ideas on how to make this spring special for our student body.
We are planning outdoor, onsite activities which include but are not limited to the following:
Homecoming Spirit Week
Homecoming Car Parade
Homecoming King/Queen Ceremony
Homecoming Family Feud
50th Anniversary Time Capsule Ceremony
Middle School Field Day
Middle School Transition Day (with incoming 6th graders)
Graduation Walk
Senior Week Events (June 1-4)
Graduation - May 28th - Ticketed Event on Stadium Field
8th Grade End of Year Event
Our award ceremonies will be held in a virtual format similar to last school year. These ceremonies will include the following and will be available for all to view:
Middle and High School Awards
Senior Scholarship Night
Top Ten Graduates
Sport Awards
Honor Societies Inductions
Our Spring Musical, Emma, as well as our Middle School Play will be produced digitally and will be available for all to view. Last year, this format allowed for a fantastically broad audience and we are again looking forward to participation from our students, parents, community, and sending district students. Our student performers are exceptional and we are looking forward to widening their audience again this year through this digital medium
