Weekly Message to CHISD Families
November 27, 2023

Cedar Hill ISD Families,
In addition to the festive atmosphere of this season, we have a lot to be thankful as we quickly approach December.
We are grateful for the voters of Cedar Hill for approving the VATRE by a 2-to-1 margin, which will have an immeasurable impact for our staff and scholars.
More recently, we have to tip our hats to the Cedar Hill High School Football Team for infusing some gridiron success into the holiday season. The Longhorns defeated Tomball, 28-7, to advance to the UIL Class 6A Division II State Quarterfinals.
They'll face DeSoto at 7 p.m. Friday at Kincaide Stadium in Dallas. This Friday will be a "Red Out" Day, so be sure to show up to work in red to support your Longhorns.

The holiday season is all about giving back, and there's no better cause than U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys For Tots. We will collect new, unwrapped toys, which will be distributed to less fortunate children in the community.
We are collecting toys at each of our campuses through Friday December 8. The campus with the most donations will win a prize.
You can drop off gently used toys at the below locations:
- 1846 Coffee
- Cedar Hill Government Center
- Lacy Enrollment Center
- Maddox Teaching & Learning Center
- Collegiate Prep Elementary
- High Pointe Elementary
- Highlands Elementary
- Lake Ridge Elementary
- Plummer Elementary
- Waterford Oaks Elementary

The Cedar Hill ISD Council of PTAs will partner with our friends at 1846 Coffee, 610 Cedar Street in downtown Cedar Hill, for a photo with Santa event from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 17.
This is a wonderful opportunity to create lasting memories with family and friends.
Have a great week!
