Juneteenth
The nineteenth day of June, recognized as Juneteenth, is a day of remembrance for the day enslaved African Americans in Texas learned of their freedom, more than two years after the emancipation proclamation was issued. Juneteenth has been designated as both a state and national holiday. This year, classrooms across the district will be recognizing Juneteenth on either Friday, June 17, or Monday, June 20. Here are some resources for families to learn more about Juneteenth.

It is time to turn in your books and Chromebooks
June 6th-10th -- Notices of overdue/lost books sent to classrooms
We'd like to give teachers and students a chance to check their classrooms/backpacks etc for booksand Chromebooks/chargers before we send overdue notices to families. On 6/13 fines will be issued for missing items. We'll be doing inventory this week, but classes can still visit the library during their regularly scheduled time if they would like a read-aloud/booktalk. We'll also be having a contest/incentive for the first class to return all their library books.
