FFA Christmas Party ~ Monday December 7th
FFA Christmas Party!! We will stay after school on Monday, December 7, 2020 to watch a Christmas movie, enjoy Christmas snacks and make blankets for Project Linus! Blankets will be donated to local women's shelter and children's hospitals.
The FFA Community Service Project for December is making tie blankets benefiting Project Linus. In lieu of a traditional FFA meeting, FFA members will stay after school on Monday December 7, 2020 from 3:30-5:30 pm to make blankets. Any student younger than 4th grade must have a parent present due to using sharp scissors. All students need to be picked up by 5:30 pm.
You need 2 pieces of fleece, 2 yards each. You can watch the video link if your child would like to make one at home. Please turn in blankets by Friday, December 11th. If you would like to donate the fleece for an FFA member to make a blanket, bring the fleece to the high school office by Monday, December 7th. For younger kids, you can get fleece that is 1 yard in length to make a smaller blanket.
MASK ARE REQUIRED! If a student will not wear a mask, a parent will be called and student will need to be picked up immediately.
Community Service ~ Hopkins Co Salvation Army
Hopkins County Salvation Army would like to invite MGISD to come out and ring the bell for the 2020 Red Kettle Campaign. Sign-up your class, club, or team for one hour of service. Additional time slots can be added to fit your schedule if needed. You will be blessed that you did! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0d45afa92ca2fbc52-redkettle1
MEAT SALE PICK-UP
1. Orders will not be ready for pick-up before 12:30 PM. Orders must be pick-up by 4:30 PM. Items are delivered frozen. We do not have freezer space to hold orders that are not picked up.
2. You MUST wear a mask in order to pick-up order. If you have been in contact with someone who has tested positive in the last 14 days, in quarantine due to contact, or tested positive for covid, please contact me via email kmartin@mgisd.net in order to arrange pick-up/delivery.
3. The complete order must be picked up. We can not "release" partial orders. You must check order list and sign off that order is correct before leaving.
4. Due to covid restrictions, pick-up will be a little different this year. Please follow these guidelines.
** Only 1 person per student can pick-up an order. When you arrive, check-in at the front office to have your driver's license scanned. In order to be on campus, you must check-in to the front office FIRST. Drive down the Ag shop and park on the south side of the Ag shop door. Please stay in your vehicle. Mr. Gatlin or myself will get the name of the student you are picking up for. We will load your order on a cart and bring it to your vehicle. You can then get out of your vehicle (1 person), check your order for accuracy and sign off. Then you can load your order into your vehicle.**
