From the Principals desk....
Tena koutou katoa,
Wow…it’s hard to believe we have come to the end of Term 1. I would like to take this opportunity to wish the students of Stanley Ave a well deserved Easter Break and holiday period with family, whānau and friends. During Term 1, our students have continued to impress me with their efforts and achievements, continuing to ‘Whaia Kia U’ (Strive to Succeed) and I know they will take this momentum into Term 2. Our teaching staff are to be thanked for their incredible efforts and our school community for their ongoing support.
As I sit and write this article I reflect on the outstanding parent support to make the Team Tui Camp at Waitawheta possible. Reports coming in from camp this morning are that it’s not just the students who are having an amazing time!
Term 2 Reminders!
A reminder that due to our Kahui Ako Teacher Only Day and Anzac Day, school starts on Wednesday 26th April.
An important part of the Te Aroha ANZAC Service is the attendance of schools. I would like to put an invite out to all Stanley Ave students, to come and walk with and attend the service as a school group. Normal Stanley Ave uniform is required to be worn. We will assemble in front of the RSA by 10 am and then walk together up to the Civic Service together. I’m looking forward to seeing a great turnout of students.
Have a great Easter and holiday period!
Mā te wā (See you later)
John Byers
Principal

Ashwan’s Got Talent!
We are incredibly excited to announce to our school community that Ashwan Singh has been selected to represent New Zealand at the 26th Annual World Championships of Performing Arts in July this year being held in Los Angeles, California. Participants from over 60 countries will be taking part.
We are so proud of Ashwan’s achievement and we wish him every success on the world stage. Ashwan is an incredibly talented drummer and even has his own youtube channel! Please watch this space over Term 2, where we will look to do some fundraising initiatives to help Ashwan get to America.
Well done Ashwan, we are incredibly proud of you.

Delivery date will be Thursday 22nd June.
Cash/eftpos or internet Banking are available.
Please note : When paying for pies - please make 1 payment per form (especially if using Eftpos and/or online banking) .This makes it a lot easier for us to track and collate orders.

Thank you all for your support
Junior Netball Registrations
If your child is playing netball, or you have kindly agreed to umpire, manage or coach a team, please follow the link below, click on Stanley Avenue School - Registrations and enter the details.
This will create a list of players in a database, and hopefully will mean that you will not have to enter details year after year or have to find the pesky paper registration form.
https://www.sporty.co.nz/tearohanetball/registrations/clubs-schools-list
Fees have been set at...
$60 for Year 5-8 (this includes a $10 per player payment for Umpires)
