Mrs. Lake's Weekly Update
29 - October- 2023
Our favorite day of the school year is happening this Wednesday, November 1 - All Saints Day! In the Catholic Church, All Saints Day is a Holy Day of Obligation dedicated to the saints of the Church. Our saints in the making will be honoring the day with a joint Mass at Saint John's Church and you are all invited to attend. In order to celebrate together, students in grades K - 3 will be bussed over for the 9:30am Mass. Mrs. Hancock's third graders have been working hard over the last couple of weeks researching and learning all about their favorite saint. They will be at Mass dressed as the saint they chose and we will get a chance to hear from many of them during the homily. If you would like to learn more about All Saints Day please watch the video below from Catholic online. It explains the day in greater detail as well as the different ways it is honored around the world.

πΆ MUSIC π΅
I am pleased to announce that starting this week, students in grades PK - 3 will once again have music class. The class will be taught by Sofija Kleinschmidt, who is currently studying music education at the University of Maine in Orono. Ms. Kleinschmidt is excited to share her love of the Catholic faith and music to all of our students at Saint Mary's Campus. Together Ms. Kleinschmidt and Mrs. Hoskins will be working on plans for a winter concert so families can see all that their students have been working on.

Thank you to all who came out last Monday to help plant bulbs at Saint Mary's Campus. A big thank you to Ina Hunt and the gardening committee for their vision. It will be fun to watch the fruits of your labor appear next spring.
