Learning and Growing
Did you know that during adolescence your brain is developing at a rapid rate, and it is primed to learn new things? All of this rapid brain development can be awesome when you try new things because your brain is very adaptable right now. By the time a student reaches high school, it is not unusual for them to think that their educational success is pre-determined based on their past performance in school. This is not the case! Your brain is primed for building new neuropathways during this time, this is called neuroplasticity. We've included some articles for you to read and a video below so that you can learn more about how you can have an impact on your grades, your emotions, and your future by harnessing the power of neuroplasticity.
AP Test Prep
If you are taking an AP exam in May, this resource might be useful for you. It gives you information about how to find practice resources in AP classroom as well as resources to help you prepare such as questions from real exams, scoring guidelines, and sample student responses.
NCAA Eligibility
If you plan on playing college sports, it is important that you are mindful of the eligibility requirements for the NCAA. Keep in mind that dropping a class or taking credit recovery may impact your ability to play NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II sports. You can always reach out to your school counselor if you need additional information.
Get Involved!
Check out the many clubs and sports offered at CHS! If you can't find a club that you are interested in, consider starting one!
