Welcome Back Cool Cats!
Please do not send students to school who have a fever or who have been medicated to reduce a fever to school. If your child has a cough, scratchy throat, or any other sick symptoms, please keep them at home. If you have any questions about COVID policies, please check out the Nurse's page on the school website.
Report cards went home Friday. Please review your child's report card and reach out to your child's teacher if you have any questions.
A technology form went home with all students on Friday. Please sign the form and return it ASAP. Without consent on this form, your child can't use technology in class for instruction.
NHCS Mask Update
The Board of Education voted to reinstate universal masking for all students and staff effective January 6 except for when students are actively participating in a sporting event. Masks must be worn at all other times.
Per the North Carolina Strong Schools toolkit, if students are fully vaccinated, exposed to the virus, and show no symptoms, they no longer have to quarantine.
Additionally, if a student is masked when exposed to a COVID-positive student, they do not have to quarantine.
State law requires the board of education to vote on mask policies monthly, so they will revisit the issue next month.
