MES Soaring to Success
Principal weekly update
Good afternoon parents!
Looking ahead to upcoming events at MES, we have many exciting things happening!! For grades K-3 we are beginning our Fundations phonics program. Look for parent letters to come home this week to help you stay informed with what's going on in the classroom. Our 4th and 5th graders will begin a new diagnostic reading test called MCLASS dibbles and results will be sent home in October. All students are also diving into our new Math program called Illustrative Math. Later in October we will be holding a Math/Literacy night in which parents will be invited in to learn about all the new initiatives.
One last item - Have you considered becoming a room parent? Volunteer sign up sheets were sent up through your students teachers! Please consider becoming one. Volunteer sign up sheets are due back by September 15th.
