Meet Caroline Conolly - PreK Teacher
Hello Wrightsboro Cool Cats! I am Caroline Conolly, and I am so excited to be teaching Preschool this year at Wrightsboro Elementary! I grew up in the foothills of the mountains in Virginia, but my mother's whole side of the family is from Wilmington! My parents moved to Carolina Beach a few years ago and I was thrilled to move to Castle Hayne this summer and be closer to family. I graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with my Masters of Teaching and a minor degree in Environmental Science in December 2017. I have 4 years of teaching experience in Virginia, ranging from teaching preschool in a co-op program, to teaching kindergarten, and then first and second grade at an environmental education and arts focused public charter school. I also have experience in the horticulture world, as I worked for a while on a local flower farm in my hometown. If you can't tell, I am incredibly passionate about the outdoors, exploring nature, and discovering all of her magic! One of my favorite things as an educator is to open up the world of nature to my students through discovery, books, experiments, and hands-on learning opportunities. I think it is so important to create that connection to our natural world! In my freetime, I like gardening, collecting vinyl records and vintage furniture/clothes, and spending time at the beach. I look forward to an awesome year in preschool!
