The week of February 14th through 18th we will be holding our annual Riley Children's Hospital Fundraiser. We will be raising money for Riley through the purchase of bracelets, lanyards, and a class jar competition; the class with the most money raised will earn a dodgeball game against Lincoln staff.

Dress up days:

Monday - Let's be Heroes for Riley (Superhero Day)

Tuesday - Riley Kids Need their Ohana (Disney Day)

Wednesday - Team Up w/ Riley (Each grade level wears the same color)

* Kindergarten: wear ORANGE

* First Grade: wear PURPLE

* Second Grade: wear GREEN

* Third Grade: wear RED

* Fourth Grade: wear BLUE

* Fifth Grade: wear YELLOW

Thursday - It's Not Wacky / Tacky to Help Riley (Silly Outfit Day)

Friday - Help Make Riley Kids' Dreams Come True (Pajama Day)

Just a friendly reminder that we are in this together and having kids in school (when healthy) is always the best for their growth and future success. We want to help clarify misconceptions and help improve attendance to prepare our students for success! As we continue to monitor attendance here are some friendly reminders that will help us here at school.

1. If your child must miss school, please call them in. You can leave a message on the attendance line if not during school hours.
2. Unreported absences will frequently result in us calling to see where they are. This is to ensure your child(ren’s) safety.
3. The state allows 10 days a year for illness. We do factor in COVID issues as these do not count towards these days if we know.
4. Doctor’s notes, missing for a funeral (parents/grandparents), or the school nurse sending them home, are all excused absences if a note is provided to the school.

When students’ absences start to add up, we do send attendance letters home and will call once they reach the state allotment for the year.

Thank you so much for helping to partner with us and prepare our wonderful students for success here at Lincoln.

In thanks to many community donations, we have a surplus of winter coats, hats and gloves! If your child is in need of such items, please contact the office and we will get them the items they need!

*February is one of the months we think about showing love to the people we care about.

*Did you know that many conversations we just think to ourselves but don’t actually say them out loud?

*Our time on Earth is short and unknown so take time today to tell your loved ones how you feel, especially your children!

We will be holding our Kindergarten Round-Up on Tuesday, April 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Incoming kindergarten students will get to meet the teachers, spend time in the classrooms, get some Lincoln swag and even ride a bus! Parents will be able to turn in necessary forms, hear from our corporation nurse and check into transportation for their child. Please plan to join us! Call the office at (260) 356-2914 to schedule a time to come (either 6:00 or 7:00 pm).

Congratulations to our Lincoln Spelling Bee Winner, Luna Castillo and our Runner-Up, Christopher Maxwell!

Luna will compete in the County-Wide Spelling Bee on February 8th @ Crestview Middle School! Good luck Luna!

Many parents have inquired about the School Resource Officer parked at Lincoln during various times throughout the year. In conjunction with our Huntington Police Department, our school SRO makes rounds to all our HCCSC campuses. Rest assured that he is just checking in and making rounds. If there were to be a situation, know that the school would contact you immediately.

We take pride in serving the students at Lincoln everyday. We are proud of our Lincoln Eagles who are respectful, responsible, and safe!
