SAVE THE DATE: 10/25 SMS Fall Recognition Night
Please join us as we celebrate the success, positive character and fall athletic participation of our SMS students, staff and community members, at our First Annual SMS Fall Recognition Night on October 25, 2021 from 6-8p.m. at SHS Pat Catan Stadium.
The following student groups are being recognized Monday night: 7/8th grade SMS Fall Athletes, Mustang Mentors, Scholar and President Quarter 1 Academic Roll students (As or As and Bs), Select Music students, PTA parents, Educators of the Month, PRIDE recipients, and Mustang of the Month for Quarter 1.
Students and parents have been invited by email or letter (letters sent home for academic recognition) if your student will be recognized. If your student qualifies for any of these groups and you did not receive an invite, please reach out and we can verify your invitation.
Barrio, Off the Griddle and Kona Ice will be available for purchase beginning at 5:15p.m. inside the stadium. Admission is free. Field Recognition will begin around 6:25p.m., but we ask any student receiving recognition to be in the stands prepared at 5:45p.m.. We do ask that students sit with their families and enjoy the event together.
We plan to call each group during a designated time onto the field to avoid congestion in an attempt to organize the students. Please listen for your student’s group to be called. At that time, your student can go to the main entrance of the field and report to their group's sign on the track. Students will go through our SCS Mustang Tunnel as they are recognized onto the field.
If the forecast calls for heavy rain by Sunday evening, our rain date will be: Tuesday, October 26th at SMS Auditorium. Guests will be limited to two per student. 6th grade students will begin at 6:00 p.m. and 7/8th grade students at 7:15 p.m. Food Trucks will be available this evening as well. You will be notified of a change by Sunday evening.
