Be Responsible

Here are some tips on teaching children the meaning of “responsibility.”

What is responsibility?

We define responsibility as “taking care of yourself, others and your things.”

Everyone has responsibilities:

1. To follow the rules at home, at school and in the community - after all rules are for safety and to protect their rights and the rights of others!

2. To be the best person that they can be

3. To take care of their bodies

4. To respect the rights of others

5. To look after their own belongings and respect the belongings of others

6. To learn as well as they can

7. To care about others

Saying “Be responsible” and pick up your toys or “Be responsible” and brush your teeth are ways to use the term at home so students realize it’s not just a school rule. It’s a life skill!

The Hillside, Westgate and Prairie Lane 5/6 Fall Band Concert is November 20th at the WMS PAC auditorium (rehearsal at 6:00 p.m. and concert at 7:00 p.m.).
