Dear Gayman Families,

I hope you are doing well and enjoying these summer months.

My first days at Gayman began last week, and I am proud to be the principal of this outstanding school. Already, my experiences with the Gayman school community have been incredibly positive. As we look forward to the upcoming, 2023-2024 school year, I would like to share our staffing plans. Please know the teaching assignments are tentative, though I do not anticipate significant changes.

The classroom teachers for this coming school year are...

• Kindergarten - Mrs. Menard
• First Grade - Mrs. Kruzits and Mrs. Trouts
• Second Grade - Mrs. Brosious, Mrs. Della Porta, and Mrs. Klebba
• Third Grade - Mrs. Flanagan, Mrs. Hofmann, and Mrs. Kuhn
• Fourth Grade - Mrs. Bullard, Ms. Law, and Mrs. Thompson
• Fifth Grade - Mr. Hudak, Mr. Isaacsohn, Ms. Khatchadourian, and Mr. Maduzia
• Sixth Grade - Mr. Crump (New to Gayman), Mr. Grace, Mrs. Milroy, and Mr. Pisch

For our specialist staffing, Mrs. Fili, Ms. O'Connor, Mrs. Pisani, and Mrs. Roche will continue to work in the speech and special education department. Sadly, we say goodbye to Mrs. Rhodes. She heads to Central Bucks South to run their PEN Program. We are in the process hiring a PEN teacher to replace Mrs. Rhodes and will communicate who that will be when the hiring process is finalized. We would also like to welcome two new Special Education Teachers to Gayman, Ms. Thompson and Mrs. Wood. Mrs. Wood joins us from a neighboring district, while Ms. Thompson joins us from Bridge Valley Elementary School. We look forward to having them join Gayman!

Mrs. Hedges, Mrs. Sweeney, Mrs. Kehoe, Mrs. Halpin, and Ms. Hendrickson will return to support our students' physical, emotional, and academic needs. Mrs. Walsh will be joining us as our school psychologist. Mrs. Walsh comes to us from Unami Middle School.

Just as in previous years, final class assignments will be announced on August 3rd via the Parent Portal.

Gayman Home and School Association

In the summer months, student placement is finalized. Know that considerable time and attention went into creating well-balanced class groupings that consider the social, academic, and emotional needs of all students. The process began with parent input, and then, former homeroom teachers, along with our counselor, reading specialist, and special education teachers developed class lists.

As you know, all of our teachers are caring, capable, and highly qualified educators. Our job is to support our students by developing confident, capable individuals. I ask you to trust the process and celebrate your child's placement with your son/daughter.

On Thursday, August 3rd the 2023-2024 class lists will be announced via the Parent Portal. (An exact time has not been determined yet.)

We look forward to the excitement that a new school year brings!

In mid-August, "Find My Bus" will be available in the Parent Portal. Click here for more information about Transportation.

The Transportation tab in your Parent Portal Account will list your child(ren)'s the bus number, as well as pick up/drop off times.

Your child may ride only the bus to which he/she has been assigned unless an Alternate Bus Stop Request has been approved. The Central Bucks Transportation Department may approve requests for childcare or shared custody situations. A form must be submitted every year: Alternate Bus Stop Request.

The state of Pennsylvania requires students in certain grades to have health exams.

• Students entering kindergarten and all students new to the district: Dental and Physical Exams
• Students entering Grades 3 and 7: Dental Exam
• Students entering Grades 6 and 11: Physical Exam

The dental and physical forms can be found HERE. The completed health forms are due to Mrs. Sara Hedges, school nurse, no later than October 22, 2023. You can upload your completed exam forms to your child's Parent Portal account. Please keep a copy of the health forms for your records. Thank you!

Central Bucks Aquatics has openings for assistant swim coaches for our introductory and competitive swim teams for the 2023-2024 school year. This is often a great fit for individuals who already work for CBSD. If you have prior swimming and/or coaching experience this is a great opportunity! Practices are at CB East and CB South High Schools.

Typical Practice Days/Times

Exact practice times vary throughout the year but are generally 2 to 3 hours within these timeframes:

Monday through Thursday 5:30 – 9 p.m.

Occasional Fridays 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Some Saturday mornings 8 a.m. – 1p.m.

Additional opportunities are available for coaches with previous USAS coaching experience.
