Celebration and Recognition | watch
Superintendent Kaczkowski introduced the President of the D41 Kids Foundation Lynn Bruno and D41 Kids Foundation Board member Marta Scarleski. They provided background information about the foundation as well as a summary of the summer musical fundraiser. This year the D41 Kids Foundation musical was Moana directed by Gina Wood. They shared a video clip of the production with the Board.

Superintendent’s Report | watch
Dr. Kaczkowski reminded the Board of a new emergency app that the district will be implementing with staff called Crisis Go.
Dr. Kaczkowski thanked cabinet members for their involvement with the new staff orientation last week. The orientation was coordinated by the Human Resources Department.
Dr. Kaczkowski shared that principals will be presenting to Board members throughout the school year.
Dr. Kris Webster gave an update on teaching and learning. She shared information about an update on the Eureka math curriculum. She announced a Eureka Math Parents Night to take place virtually on Monday, August 21.

Review Project Exhibit Agreement For Design Services of Full Day Kindergarten Center with Wight & Co. | watch
Brad Paulson and Craig Siepka from Wight & Co. presented an overview of the process up to now and next steps related to building space to provide full-day kindergarten. They shared the three approaches to achieving space for full day kindergarten that have been presented at previous Board meetings. The Board had settled on Approach 1. Approach 1 includes an addition on Churchill School to provide full-day kindergarten for students across the district. Board members asked questions and engaged in conversation about program features and building specifics.
In addition, Mr. Paulson also shared an adjustment to the contract with Wight from 2017.

Discuss Proposal for Bollinger Regarding Wetland Delineation | watch
Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Facilities and Operations Eric DePorter explained the details around a wetland study of the property behind Churchill to update a report from 2014. This study starts this process to stay on the project completion deadlines.
Preliminary Draft 2023-2024 Budget | watch
Mr. DePorter shared the tentative budget with the Board and provided information about the posting requirements. Mr. DePorter shared the details about the larger assumptions in the budget and the details related to changes from last year.
