Valerius Bricks Available

As deconstruction of the original Valerius Elementary building continues, there are bricks available for community members wishing to have a brick as a keepsake. Please review the following information:

  • Bricks are available at Urbandale High School (Note: The Valerius site is an active construction zone; only authorized personnel are allowed to enter the site.)
  • Turn into the UHS parking lot near the football stadium (east side of the building) and go toward the loading dock area. Bricks are stacked on a pallet next to the building.
  • Please limit the number of bricks to 4 per household; bricks are free.
  • We encourage you to pick up your brick(s) between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to help reduce traffic congestion at the high school.
  • Please be extra cautious driving into this area as there may be students and staff in the vicinity.

VALERIUS FUN RUN

CLASSROOM PARTY DONATIONS

Valerius PTO hosts 3 classroom parties each year in September, December, and February. We suggest a $5 donation per student to help cover the cost of our 3 classroom parties each year. If you would like to make a donation, visit https://valeriuspto.square.site

PTO MONTHLY MEETING

Please join the Valerius PTO for our first meeting of the school year next Thursday, September 9 at 6:30pm at the Valerius shelter near the playground.

Parent Pick Up-- WALKERS IN 3rd-5th GRADE

After further conversation with staff and families, I am making an adjustment for our 3rd-5th grade walkers.


Our students in 3rd-5th grade can come out the WEST DOORS or MAIN DOORS (whichever is most convenient), and they can cross the street with the crossing guard without a parent.


Our students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade will still need a parent escort for extra safety purposes.


I'm also noticing that families are parking on 64th street by the playground. Please remember to park past the NO PARKING signs to leave room for our buses.
