The final push - we need YOU!
The Fair is almost here, and we really appreciate the many wonderful donations, bottles, Jolly Jars, delicious treats and helping hands around school. As you know, the PTA and Fair team have worked tirelessly to bring together this major event.
The 'Big Ask' as the finish line approaches is a final plea for helpers on the day.
This can just be for a single event/stall (and only for a relatively short block of time), with many slots yet to be filled. Events and stalls can only proceed on the day if there are many hands making light work - we're almost out of time to find the volunteers we need to make it all happen, and you can make the difference!
One of the MENPS Touchstones we try to model to our children is Whanaungatanga, but to put this into action we need everyone to get on board and get involved. Your children can help out alongside you if needed, and I'm sure it will be a memorable and rewarding experience on the day - no previous experience required!
We're asking you to please drop what you're doing for a minute or two right now and click the link below to add your family name to the volunteers list for your room if you have not already done so. It only takes a moment and will fill some of the rooms that still have many gaps.
Athletics
I'd like to finish by acknowledging the children for their hard work training for Athletics, with events taking place this week. Unfortunately, we have had to make the decision to postpone the Y4-6 Athletics due to an ominous forecast tomorrow. As the venue has almost no shelter and we have numerous buses booked, this is too much of a risk at this stage, so we need to make the call early.
As a result, the event has been rescheduled to November 18, with fingers crossed for better weather on the horizon.
I look forward to seeing you (perhaps during my tenure on the Dunking Machine) this Sunday, or around one of the many fun events, stalls and activities lined up and ready to go from 11am!

Help!
By now you will have received lots of emails from the office, PTA and class coordinators with calls for help. The fair is an epic event - to make it happen we need a small amount of time from every family.
Many thanks to the parents, school admin and teachers who have already signed up to help but we need help from 100 more people.
People Power spreadsheet
They say it takes a village to raise a child… turns out it takes an army to run a fair!! As mentioned above – here is the link to the People Power spreadsheet.
Please check out which stall your class has been allocated and sign up to lend a hand for an hour (or more if you like)! Or email the PTA inbox with the hour you can help with and we will assign you a role/stall menpspta@gmail.com.
Qualified medical help to be on call/on site during the fair
We have 6 school staff available that are trained in First Aid.
Please be our medically qualified person on site - for one hour per person. You would be on call if there is first aid needed that can’t be treated with a plaster etc. If you are already on site helping with a stall then we’d like to have you on call for that hour. Please email menpspta@gmail.com.

Lolly Jars
Thank you to all of those who have returned their Lolly and Lucky Jars already. If you still have one to donate, please do so by 9 am on Friday 11th of November at the school office.
The Lolly Jar Fair Vouchers will be drawn at 11 am on Friday 11th November so be sure to put your Lolly Jar paper slip with your name and room number in the Entry box at the school office. Three winners will each be awarded a $5 voucher to spend at the Fair. If you left your named Lolly Jar paper slip in your Lolly Jar, it has been put in the Entry box for you. Good Luck!
Cake stall
Cake boxes went home in bags yesterday and can be returned to staff room during the following times:
- 3pm on Friday
- Saturday between 1- 4pm
- Sunday morning before 10am
Please fill your box with yummy cakes, cupcakes, biscuits or slices. Spare cake boxes are available in the office for the keen bakers.
Wristbands
In 2022 we are introducing a new way to enjoy all of the fun at the fair. Wristbands will be available from the Ray White wristband stall on the field.
- A wristband is $20 & allows unlimited play.
- 1 wristband per child, not transferable.
Sun salutations ☀
The fair goes ahead rain or shine and has raised funds on a rainy day before. The forecast is improving every day so we look forward to seeing you all at school on Sunday between 11am and 3pm.

Support our school by eating a delicious Roast at The Bridgman.
Seems too easy but $10 of every kids meal goes directly to our school funds. All you need to do is book your table and put MENPS into the ‘requests’ box and they will donate the profits of your kids meals back to the school.
Easy right?
Just book here - The Bridgman | Corner of Dominion & Valley Roads | Carefully curated food, drinks & cocktails.
The Bridgman are also generously running a food stall at the upcoming Food & Fun Fair.
