New This Week
RHS Student Newsletter
There is no student newsletter this week due to final exams.
Charity Week
Next week is Charity Week. The change to the start of semester two does NOT affect Charity Week. All information can be found on the CHARITY WEEK 2024 INFO document.
Save the Date
Attention Romeo Parents, please mark Thursday, February 22nd 6-8pm at RHS on your calendar. We are bringing back our State of the District - Parent Informational Evening event. The evening will include a district update presentation along with breakout sessions on specific topics parents can choose from. We are finalizing the agenda for the evening and will share more detailed information soon.
2024 Millage Renewals
The Presidential Primary Election on February 27 is fast approaching and we want voters to have the facts about the Romeo Community Schools 2024 millage renewals on the ballot. This informative video will provide everything you need to know about the Sinking Fund millage and the Non-Homestead Operating millage renewals. The funds generated through these measures will directly impact the quality of education we can provide for our students.
End of Semester Information
- Monday is a half day for students. The last exams, 2nd and 6th period, will be this day.
- Official semester one grades will be visible in PowerSchool on Monday, January 29th (RHS does not send home report cards)
- Semester two schedules will be available to view in PowerSchool on Monday (1/22) afternoon
- RHS Yearly Calendar (updated) - Changing the red/white day calendar is difficult as many school events are intentionally scheduled on a red or white day. For this reason, Tuesday (1/23) will remain a white day, which means the second semester will begin with a white day (we usually begin with a red day). The linked calendar (above) has been updated to reflect the changes caused by last week's snow day.
Semester Two Reminders
School Policy Reminders
Semester breaks are a good time to remind everyone of important school policies. The full list can be found on the red document to the right, but here are some quick reminders:
- RHS/9GA are Nut Alert environments. Please don't bring in food containing peanuts or tree nuts
- During class time, students are required to have hall passes at all times when not in the classroom
- During class time, cell phones are required to be put in the classroom cell phone holders every class, every day
- Tardies refresh (start over) each semester. So Tuesday will be fresh start for everyone
Winter Weather
It's winter in Michigan... we will have snow and ice for the next three months. We will no longer be excusing tardies for being late to school; please plan accordingly:
- If you ride the bus, you won't have any issues as long as you're at the bus stop on time
- If your parents drive you, be sure you are ready in plenty of time for your parents to safely get you to school. They've been doing this for a long time and know it takes longer to drive in the snow. Make sure you're not the reason they can't leave the house early.
- If you're responsible enough to drive, then you need to be responsible enough to get to school on time. I'll share the same advice your parents have probably told you in regards to driving in winter; go to bed 15 minutes earlier, get up 15 minutes earlier, leave your house 15 minutes earlier, and take your time so you get to school safely
