Career Counselling News
January 2023
Welcome Back!
January is a busy time for high school students with final exams, extra curricular activities and new year plans. For those with conditional or full admission to post-secondary, be sure to watch your portals for due dates regarding scholarships, tuition deposits and residence applications. Also, diploma marks will be posted in your MyPass account, the second week of February. Use your PERSONAL email to access your myPass account. Are you waiting for conditional admission status from a post-secondary institution? Be sure to update your completed courses and final marks in whatever manner the institutions requires. Check your emails & watch for deadline to complete this process. Unsure, contact the career counsellor.
Reach out to Mrs. Kruchten or Mrs. Praticante for extra support.
ELAA in BRSD
ELAA - Educational Liason Association of Alberta is comprised of post-secondary institutions from across Alberta. The Canadian Armed Forces joined ELAA for the BRSD hosted events this year.
Thank you to CHSPS & ECCHS for hosting our events this year - they were very well attended!
Ask An Advisor
Students asked great questions about programs, admission requirements, athletics, scholarships and all things post-secondary. For some, this is the only time they talk to a representative from their potential school of choice; an institution that is taking thousands of your dollars! These conversations are important and can change the trajectory of their high school planning and post-secondary education.
Thank you to all the schools and students that were able to participate.
The events don't end here!
Most institutions host open houses and preview days in the winter and/or spring, so be sure to watch the HS+ Google Classroom for updates or check out institution websites to learn about more opportunities.
We will be booking ELAA for next year by the end of the 2023-24 school year, so watch for dates and locations!

Insurance brokering is about helping people in different capacities and situations. Everything needs insurance to function. Homes, cars, business, luxury items all need to be insured. They offer piece of mind to their clients and advise them on how to get back to normal. Brokers are someone to call when the worst happens, and helps people get back on their feet quickly.
