Following the valuable feedback received from USD employees in the Fall concerning facilities project priorities, we are now seeking input from the broader community. We invite you to take a few minutes to complete this survey. Your perspectives will play a significant role in assisting USD in prioritizing areas that require improvement and guiding us in the creation of new spaces or enhancements that will best serve the needs of our students and community. The Birthday Book Club is a year round fundraiser for the Carlton Avenue School Library. Your

donations allow us to provide a more expansive and vibrant collection of books for our students.

Parents of English Learners-please save the date! Our next District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC) meeting will be held on February, 29th from 3:15-4:15 on Zoom. We will be presenting information about the ELPAC, Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and our teacher leaders from our district EL Committee will share updates from each of their school sites. We hope to see you there!

District employee, Paulina Meza, will be simultaneously translating the meeting for our Spanish-speaking parents.

The Zoom link will be shared with parents through Parent Square.

We are beyond thrilled to announce the upcoming 2024 USD Creativity Showcase! Our theme is Technicolor Dreams. All of our TK through 8th grade students are invited to submit their creative work via our website.

Masterpieces will be displayed and shared at USD’s Health & Wellness Community Event on Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 at Union Middle School.

Yard duty supervision is an easy and fun way to help Carlton. We are always looking for both paid (this requires committing to a specific schedule) and volunteer (drop in and help out when you can) yard duties for both our Grades 1-5 lunch as well as the separate TK/Kinder lunch.

Hello Carlton Families!

We are in need of daily Yard Duty Support during our TK/Kinder lunch and recess.

We are able to have just one (1) person per area, per day.

If you do not know your availability, or notice there are no more slots available on a particular day,
you are still welcome to offer "walk-in" yard duty support.

Don't forget,
if you are going to be a yard duty or volunteer in any role during our school day,
please complete our Volunteer Code of Conduct.

Yard Duty is a payable position for anyone available on a consistent basis.

Please be prepared to walk your TK/Kinder student to their classroom door in the mornings and give them a quick hug at 8:05 before you exit. Some little ones may struggle a little bit with separating from their parents in the morning, that is OK!!! Please know that we have an experienced TK/Kinder staff that are prepared to help manage these situations and help make your child feel welcomed and settled.
