Eeeek! We jumped from fall to winter in a matter of a week.
We have leaped and bound into the school year. On a daily basis your students are doing amazing things. Thank you for entrusting us with them. As we move into November, there is a lot that will be happening. Please know that I will attempt to share most information. Things move at such a quick pace I cannot possibly commit to sharing all information. If you haven't gotten a chance please be sure to hop onto the Justice Page Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/mps.justicepage) and follow us. Daily posts are made on the great things that are happening at Justice Page.
JPS Website: We are in the process of having our website overhauled and running from a new platform. You can expect to see the new website as soon as November 20th.

Please reach out to Erik Hensel with questions at erik.hensel@mpls.k12.mn.usDo you enjoy downhill (alpine) skiing? Would you like to learn how to ski race? The Minneapolis Alpine Ski Team (MAST) may be just for you. Slalom ski racing is a varsity sport of Minneapolis Public Schools and MAST is Minneapolis’ slalom racing team. MAST is open to Minneapolis students in grades 7-12.
Everybody races as part of a team, either varsity or junior varsity. No racing experience is necessary. We offer excellent coaching and training, a fun and friendly team atmosphere, exciting competitions against other high school ski teams, and the chance to participate in the fastest, non-motorized sport in the world!
Our team is very welcoming and supportive of its seventh and eighth grade students. Last year we had twenty-nine 7th and 8th graders on our roster. Our coaches are excited to teach you how to ski with perfect technique. Start now and by the time you enter high school you will be on the way to becoming an outstanding ski racer. Here is how to learn more about high school ski racing with MPS Athletics:
CHECK OUT our website at www.mplsalpineski.org SCROLL DOWN our homepage and watch the slideshow titled “New Family Orientation To High School Racing and MAST”. DOWNLOAD the 2023-24 MAST Fact Sheet COMPLETE the NEW Athlete Inquiry Form so we can keep you up to speed about all preseason meetings, equipment, schedules, and registration. You can also contact our Head Coach, Mark Conway, 612-275-8392, or email markrobertconway58@gmail.com if you have additional questions. It is never too soon ---or too late--- to learn to ski race.
Cultivate Survey
This fall and spring, Justice Page students will be asked to participate in the Cultivate Student survey. Cultivate is a student survey, developed by the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research, that asks your student to reflect on their experiences in their classrooms, as well as how they view themselves as a student. This information is then used to guide teachers in creating the best possible learning environments for your student and their peers. After the survey administration, schools receive a survey report with collective findings from student responses that can be used to guide school improvement. The Cultivate Survey will be administered at school during their Crew class and take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Your student will complete only one survey during each administration window and will only answer questions about one core subject, such as math class or English class.
Participation in this survey is voluntary. Your student may withdraw participation at any time and will not be penalized for doing so. Your student’s grades and relationship with teachers will not be affected if your student chooses to opt-out of participating in the survey. The survey will be administered on November 7, 2023, and between April 16 and May 10, 2024.
Please return the attached form via this link to your student’s Crew teacher if you wish to opt out of this year’s Cultivate Survey.
