The Llewellyn Friday Flyer
December 15, 2023
Dear Families,
Winter Break is fast approaching! With all the hustle and bustle, don't forget to sign up for Parent Teacher Conferences conferences in January (1/10 & 11) and (1/17 & 1/18). Connect with your child's teacher for a date and time.
Again, I know the addition of school days during the week of December 18-22 has presented families with some tough choices. We are planning for a regular week of school. If you know your child will NOT be attending school that week, please email Mark Robb (mrobb@pps.net) or Kellie Grunde (kgrunde@pps.net) to let us know. It will help us greatly in planning for instruction next week and when we all return to school after Winter Break.
On behalf of the Community Cares Team, I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to all the families who contributed to our Community Cares Project. Your generosity has touched our hearts and will make the holidays brighter for a number of families in our community. It is times like these that remind us just how amazing it is to be a part of this incredible community. Thank you!❤️
As always, feel free to contact me with your questions, ideas, or concerns at pgwynn@pps.net.
Have a great weekend!
Principal Pam

From The Office
Has your child returned their Chromebook to school yet?
K-2 Parents – If your student borrowed a Chromebook for the strike, PLEASE return it as soon as possible! These computers came from the carts that all K-2 students share, and we are still missing several carts’ worth of Chromebooks! IT will be locking unreturned Chromebooks at some point in the near future. Thank you for your help in rebuilding these important tools!
Will your child be absent for a planned trip next week (12/18-22)?
Parents / Guardians, if your student is going to be absent around the Holidays for a planned trip, please let the office know as early as possible so we can be sure to update your student’s attendance. We’ve had some great response so far. Thank You for letting us know; it really helps with planning.

From the Counselor
Dear Families,
Your Llewellyn Community Care Team wanted to send a quick thank you to those of you who were able to lend a helping hand this holiday season. Thank you for your generous donation and support for our community. We are so fortunate to have a community that comes together and helps others when needed. We are so grateful for your continued support.
Thank you!

Llewellyn After School Enrichment Program Updates!
Winter session will begin the second week after holiday break (January 8th) and run until Spring Break (March 22). Registration will open for all classes on 6crickets on December 18th at 8pm, so mark your calendars! Many of our favorite courses will be returning, and hopefully some new ones as well.
The program is recruiting instructors! Do you have a special skill or hobby? Share it with our students by hosting a club or teaching a class!
Ideas include board game club, Pokemon, science, magic, embroidery, guitar or ukelele, Spanish or other languages and lots more. Hosting a class is a great way to help build our school community! We are recruiting both free and fee-based classes. Please email parent volunteer Adrianne with any questions or to express interest adrianne.schaefer@gmail.com.

Welcome back everyone!
PTA Happenings
The countdown to break has started! A little sunshine has been peeking through so hopefully for the teacher’s sake the students have been enjoying the sun and less wiggly in class. Next week is sure to be a flurry of activities in the classrooms so make sure to check with your teacher to see if you can help with any of the “funtivities”!
We hope you made it to the book fair this week! It was busy in the library this week with the book fair in full swing. A lot of students and parents came through with some really fun books and other fun items. This is a really big fundraiser for the library and we know our librarians are grateful for all the purchases. All the funds go right back into building our school library and keeping our students excited about reading with all the new titles to choose from. Thank you for your support and for all the parent volunteers who made the event run smoothly.
Our Read-a-Thon fundraiser is coming in January. This fundraiser will take the place of our auction and what we are hoping will be our largest fundraiser of the year. We have already begun some event planning and are excited to share this with our Llewellyn readers. Look for some announcements after the new year!
We are looking for a couple of volunteers for Reading Night! Reading Night has been such a wonderful event with so many guest readers like Timber Joey, Dillon Pickle, Mailman Ben, Dentist Dave, Principal Pam and so many others. Please email us at llewellynpta@gmail.com to be a part of the planning of this amazing event.
