PCM High School

PCM High School’s purpose is to develop self-sufficient citizens who are ready for the next stages of life. We will facilitate and foster student growth academically, socially, and emotionally through inclusive and rigorous curriculum. Our students will graduate with an understanding of who they are individually as the best version of themselves and make lasting contributions in their communities.

The Student of the Month award is a long-standing tradition at PCM. These seniors are chosen by a group of teachers at the high school who examine the students as a whole. Things that are taken into consideration are:

• Leadership in and out of the classroom
• Effort in the classroom
• Embodiment of PCM school values

Students that are selected are honored at a breakfast put on the the Monroe Kiwanis each month and presented with a certificate in their honor.

Parents please make sure that your phone number listed in Infinite Campus is correct. In addition, it would be very helpful if you would ensure that you have voicemail set up on your phone. If the school needs to get ahold of a parent during an emergency, leaving a voicemail is critical to communicating information about your student. Thank you for your cooperation!

As a reminder, PCM High School has vape sensors in various locations throughout the building. The sensors are designed to send a signal electronically to administration if any vapor from an electronic cigarette device is detected, there is an abnormally high level of noise in the bathroom or if the sensors are tampered with in any way. These sensors have been installed in an effort to improve the health and safety of our students.

The consequences for use or possession of tobacco or tobacco look-alike

products on PCM property are as follows:

• Possession or use of tobacco or tobacco look-alike products: 2 days out of school suspension

• Possession, use, or distribution of any illegal drugs: 10 days out of school suspension with possibility of expulsion

• Tampering/Destruction of PCM property, including vape sensors: Up to 2 days out of school suspension and payment for the damage.

If the student is an athlete or involved in PCM activities, there are also Code of Conduct violations that will be issued accordingly.

Because the sensors are designed to detect very low levels of vapor, if administration is alerted that vapor has been detected and a student is seen coming out of the bathroom or locker room at that moment they will be subject to search according to PCM Board Policy 502.10: Search and Seizure.
