Letter from the Principal
Dear Golden Hills Families,
We are almost to the end of the first trimester for the 2023-2024 school year. Parent Conference Week is just around the corner: November 13-17th School ends at 1:15 during Parent Conference Week. Teachers will be setting up schedules for families to meet to go over your students' progress.
We had so much celebrating Red Ribbon Week with the students. The dress up days were so much fun and thank you for the participation! We also loved all the families attending the Halloween Parade!
Our Golden Hills staff is working hard each month to develop interventions based on each student's individual needs. Our EAGLE time is based around a math intervention, this could be reteaching a target standard or providing extensions for students who are ready to be challenged! Our SOAR time is based around a Language Arts intervention or extension, students are assessed to see which skills they need to reach their reading goals.
Thank you to the families who attended our first Literacy Chat. At this meeting we shared specific information about their students reading and provided resources to support the student at home. We will do this again!
On November 17th we will have an Art Showcase & Family Picnic Day . The Art Showcase will be at lunch time, for fourth grade it begins at 11:40 and fifth grade will be at 12:15 . Art will be displayed in the breezeway for families to see. Students will choose a piece of art from their homeroom, art class with Ms. Langford or from their afterschool art club. Thank you to Ms.Rickmers, Mrs. Corkin and Ms. Langford, our after school art teachers!
Families are welcome to join us at lunch, please bring a blanket or chairs to spread out and sit on the grass. If it rains we will open up classrooms & the cafeteria. All visitors must bring their own lunch.
The Parent Teacher Group will be accepting donations at the Art Showcase/ Family Picnic. Please support the PTG by purchasing raffle tickets. The PTG is raising funds for a field trip to Cal Skate at the end of the year.
Please be sure to contact me if you have any questions or concerns,
Thank you,
Mrs Napoli
Golden Hills Principal
