Penny Wars Feb12-23
This year Penny Wars will benefit the Assistance League of Norman who provides clothes for students through Operation School Bell. Each class will have a jug in the library. Students will be encouraged to bring pennies and bills to drop in their class jug for positive points. Students can sabotage other classes by putting silver coins (nickels, dimes, quarters) which count as negative points. The class with the most points will win a celebration. Our school-wide goal is $1,000 ($2 per kid). If we reach our goal, we will have a school-wide celebration.

Share Fair
The Share Fair is next Thursday! All projects will be on display during the school day, and in the evening on February 15th.
All Washington families are invited to attend our evening viewing. You do not have to have a project to attend. We would love to see lots of families supporting the students as they “SHARE” their interests.
With so many participants we are using the gym and the library to display our projects. Please honor your commitment to complete a project if you turned in a form. Here are some important dates and times you need to know.
On Thursday, February 15th, Share Fair presentations should be set up by the student and parent in the Washington library or gym between 7:25 am to 8:00 pm.
Your project will be set up for students and classes to view during the day on Thursday, February 15th from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.
Students must be in attendance and ready to share their presentation with observers (parents) during the evening hours from 6:00 – 7:30pm on February 15th. Doors will not open until 6:00.
“Observers/Parents” will be speaking with you, viewing your display and giving feedback on Thursday from 6:00-7:30 pm.
Your display will need to be cleaned up between 7:30 pm and 8:00 that night.
Thanks for enriching your child’s education, Mrs. Trumble

Please help us with our attendance goal this year. If your child has 8 absences each semester or a total of 16 absences in the year they are considered chronic. Any chronic absenteeism is counted against Washington. It is so important for our Eagles to be at school so we can help them grow academically.
Please remember to stay in your car and have your child ready to unload when you pull up in the mornings. If you need to help your child unload please wait to move up to spot number 1 or 2 in the lane closes to the building. This will allow cars to move around you and your child can exit safely.
Reminder to please NOT pull through the BUS LOOP in the front area to drop off your student. This is for the safety of your child. We ask that you get in the drop off lane. Please park and walk your child to the front if you are past 7:50.
As the weather gets cooler please make sure that your child is not getting dropped off early. We have NO supervision until 7:25 am.
Please put your child's name inside their jackets, hats and gloves. We will go outside for recess on cool days. This helps us return the items to the correct students when they have their name inside.
Birthday Reminder:
- Please check with classroom teachers for food allergies before bringing birthday treats. You can drop the treats off in the office. We do ask parents not to send balloons or big bouquets to school. These are a big distraction in the classroom and if your child rides the bus it is hard to handle on the bus. Thank you.
- Birthday party invitations may be distributed at school as long as every student in the class receives an invitation. Please contact your child's teacher if you have any questions.
Reminders:
- PLEASE don't drop off your student before 7:25 when staff gets outside. We have no supervision before 7:25. Our staff is not on contract until 7:25. Thank you for helping us keep your kids safe.
- If the doors are closed on the north side please park and walk your child inside. The doors are locked all day on that side of the building. Please stay in your car during drop off and pull up if you need to buckle your child. This helps our line move faster.
