Recent Government Announcement
Here is a brief update on the recent announcement and how this will impact OLMP:
-No masks required for K-12 students starting Monday. (Students are welcome to wear a mask if they wish)

-Emphasis on Daily Screening will continue.
-Isolation requirements are still in place for the time being with the masking requirement for 5 days upon return.
-Cohorting and Sanitizing protocols remain in place.
-Parents/Visitors in schools, Field trips etc. is still the same for now but will be under review.

2022-2023 EICS Assurance Plan REMINDER!
Dear Parents,
As part of the Elk Island Catholic School Assurance process, we would like to invite you to participate in a survey already sent to you through an email:
Parent Survey Link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/2NPH9PW
Results from this survey will be used to inform planning at the school and divisional level for the 2022/2023 school year. This survey is provided to all grade 4-12 students, all staff, and all parents in our division.
The survey will remain open until Friday, February 25. Thank you for your participation.
2021/22 Alberta Education Assurance (AEA) Survey
If you have a child in grade 4, 7, or 10, you may receive a survey from Alberta Education after February 14th and closes March 25th. Please watch for this. We would encourage you to complete both surveys. Students in Grades 7 and 10 will also complete these surveys as well.
EICS Administration
OLMP Catholic School Student Attendance Guidelines
A brief note about attendance: Because it is the school that determines what code goes in powerschool for an absence (Excused, Unexcused, Ill, etc) please include information in any messages as to why your child is away. Also, a reminder that our new Attendance Policy is now in place. Thank you.
The dates for celebration of the Sacraments are as follows:
1st Confession – March 5th @10:30am
1st Communion – April 24th @11:00am mass
Confirmation – June 26th @11:00am mass
Also, I would like to request that each parent sign up for “Flocknote” by texting “Camrose” to 514-900-0130. Flocknote is a texting service and allows us to send you notes and reminders during preparation. Once signed up, include yourself in the group your child belongs (i.e. “Confirmation”). You can stop the texts at any time by texting back “STOP”.
Considering we are still in the pandemic, if gathering publicly (with restrictions) is a cause for concern, please contact me so we can discuss possible alternative arrangements.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at the parish 780-672-1131 or kris.schmidt@caedm.ca.
In Christ,
Fr. Kristopher Schmidt
